Rain starts again at Colombo!
Pak vs Ind match to be continued tomorrow.
Pakistan and India had to play their Asia Cup match of the Super Four stage today but the match couldn't get continued due to heavy rain, hence, play will resume tomorrow in this format.
Match Highlights
Toss: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam managed to win the toss and he decided to field first amid overcast conditions.
Scorecard: India were off to a flying start which was provided by their openers - Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The openers put up an opening partnership of 121 runs when Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Shadab Khan. In the very next over, Shubman Gill was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi. This got Pakistan back into the game and forced Indian batsmen KL Rahul and Virat Kohli to start the recovery for India. India were 147/2 after 24.1 overs when rain arrived and the play got stopped.
Now, as rain stopped at around 7pm (PST), chances of play getting resumed got high and revised over targets had come out. Umpires had inspected the pitch once and were supposed to inspect the pitch again, but their second inspection got abandoned after the rain re-arrived. This forced the umpires to take the match to the reserve day and the play will continue tomorrow at 2:30pm (PST). Good news is that no overs will be deducted and the play could go on till 50 overs in both innings if rain doesn't interrupts the play again. Although, Rain is predicted tomorrow.
