Pakistan wins against Afghanistan in a tense match | West Indies still survives in the game | Latest Points Table

Yesterday was the day for T20i world cup Because of the two intense matches being played yesterday. West Indies survives in the tournament after defeating Bangladesh at Sharjah while Pakistan won against Afghanistan in the second match at Dubai Cricket Stadium. Let's analyze the two matches and discuss the points table after the matches

First match

The fist match was played between West Indies and Bangladesh. Both the teams were looking for their first win in the tournament. West Indies were the winners yet they still survive in the tournament.

Toss

The toss was won by Bangladesh and they as usual chose to bowl first.

First Innings

West Indies were able to put a respectable total of 142 at Sharjah's slow pitch. They didn't started well with their openers returning to the pavilion at 18 runs of the innings. But then Nicholas Pooran's 40 of 22 balls and Rostan Chase's 39 of 46 deliveries led West Indies to a respectable total of 142/7.

Second Innings

Bangladesh were not able to chase it and only made 139/7 in 20 overs with Mahmudullah being the leading run scorer who scored an unbeatable 31 of just 24 balls. No any other player supported him well which is why Bangladesh was not able to chase this total and West Indies ended up winning by 3 runs while Nicholas Pooran was declared the player of the match.

Second Match

Pakistan and Afghanistan came up against each other in the second match which was won by Pakistan by 5 wickets.

Toss

The toss was won by Afghanistan but they surprisingly chose to bat first which was a big step as the teams bowling first were usually winning especially in evening matches. Some people declared it as a big blunder while some said that it was a planned decision because of no dew at night and chasing could've been difficult by this bowling attack of Pakistan but as we all know that it was not a match winning decision.

First Innings

Pakistani bowlers again out performed in the match where they sent half of the Afghanistan's team back after the whole team had just scored 64. Najibullah Zadran's wicket also fell down at the score of 76 but this was the end of Afghanistan's bad time because after this Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib scored a brilliant partnership of 71 taking their team's total to 147.

Second Innings

Pakistan's start was not fine as well as Rizwan left the crease after just scoring 8 (10). Fakhar Zaman then joined Babar Azam and they both scored a brilliant partnership of 63. Fakhar deliver some power-hitting shots and played with a nice strike-rate while Babar on the other hand kept on targeting bad balls. Fakhar zaman depared after scoring 30 (24) and after this the match started to go to Afghanistan's side as Pakistan played a lot of dot balls and no such partnership was built but at the end, when Pakistan was required to score 24 runs in their last 2 overs, Asif Ali made them in one over by hitting 4 sixes in an over and Pakistan concluded winning the match by 5 wickets.
