India's expected playing xi in the first T20i against England

 Rohit Sharma ready to lead India again in the shorter format of the game

England and India will play the first T20i of the 3-match T20i series at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground, Hampshire on Thursday at 10:00 pm (PST).

Favorites to win the First T20I

This is going to be a super clash as the number 1 and number 2 teams in the ICC rankings will face each other. Jos Buttler is all set to take over as the new white ball captain for England while India's original captain is making a comeback to lead the men in blue. It would be an interesting game but it's highly probable for India to win this game. Reason being Rohit Sharma's success as a captain. He is yet to loose a match as a captain while England have got a new captain who may take time to settle.


India's squad for the 1st T20i against England

India have earlier announced a squad for today's game. They have rested Virat Kohli for the first game who was unable to find any form in the final test against England. Here's there 18-men squad for today's game:

Indian team's combination

Openers: As Rohit Sharma returns, Ruturaj Gaikwad will have to be benched and the chances are really high for Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan to open the innings for Pakistan.


Middle order: Following Deepak Hooda's supreme form, he may play at number 3.  Suryakumar Yadav is also expected to get a chance in the team and he will play at three-down that is number 4. As Sanju Samson returns to the squad, he will be playing at number 5. Fast bowling All rounder Hardik Pandya has managed to get an permanent spot for him in the team and he will play at number 6. The senior wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has emerged to be the greatest finishers for India in recent times. He has also been very handy with the gloves. He is likely to play at number 7

Spinners: Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel will serve as the two main spinners for India in the first T20i.

Pacers: This is a department where India has got variety of options. They might go with Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. As it is England, India may need bowlers who know how to swing the ball.
