ICC Awards' nominees for T20 and test player of the year in 2021
ICC has announced nominations for test and T20 player of the year award to reward players for their performances throughout the calendar year.
International Cricket Council (ICC) has reported diverse individual award categories for the ICC Awards 2021 to remunerate top players across people's worldwide cricket all through the schedule year from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021
There are 13 individual honors during the current year just as five Team of the Year declarations for each format across women's and men's cricket.
Nominations for the T20i player of the year award 2021
1. Mohammad Rizwan:
Mohammad Rizwan played twenty nine matches and scored 1326 runs ( most runs from any batsman in a calendar year). He scored this massive amount of runs at an average of 73.66 having a strike rate of 134.89.
2. Wanindu Hasaranga:
Wanindu Hasaranga ended up being the number 1 bowler of 2021. He played 20 matches and took 36 wickets this year. 16 of his wickets came from the ICC T20i World cup which made him the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.
3. Jos Buttler:
Jos Buttler scored 589 runs in 14 matches at an exceptional average of 65.44 and gave some match winning performances against India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and in the ICC Men's T20i World Cup which has listed his name in the nominations of ICC T20i player of the year award.
4. Mitchell Marsh:
Mitchell Marsh scored played 27 matches and scored 627 runs having an average of 36.88 and also got his teams eight wickets in this year. He didn't scored immensely but gave match winning performances in the semi final and final of ICC Men's T20i World Cup which has listed his name in the nominations.
We personally think that Babar Azam, who ended up as number 1 T20i batsman could've been nominated at the place of Mitchell Marsh. Do you also think the same?

Nominees for test player of the year award 2021
1. Dimuth Karunaratne: 902 runs at an average of 69.38
2. Joe Root: 1708 runs at an average of 61
3. Ravichandran Aswin: 52 wickets at an average of 16.23.
4. Kyle Jamieson: 27 wickets at an average of 17.51
We personally think that Shaheen Shah Afirdi, who took 47 wickets this year could've been nominated at the place of Kyle Jamieson. Do you also think the same? Although Joe Root is probably going to win this award.
