This is going to be the 15th season of IPL which will be mainly played at Mumbai and Pune while playoffs' venues haven't been announced yet but there is a great possibility of Playoffs taking place at the world's biggest cricket stadium i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Opening match
The opening match of IPL is going to be played between last year's finalists: Kolkata Knight Riders and defending champions Chennai Super Kings .
Captains
The IPL 2022 is considered special because it is having 10 teams with 8 India captains.
While in this particular match, Ravindra Jadeja is going to lead Chennai Super Kings after Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as their captain while Shreyas Iyer will lead Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time.

If we look at both the teams head-to-head, Chennai Super Kings seems to dominate KKR, but with today's combination of both the teams, it seems to me that KKR have a great chance to win this match as CSK is lacking with some of their main players like Deepak Chahar, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Pretorius etc.
